Set up shelves low enough for your child to access them. This way, your child can learn to store their belongings back on the shelf after use, or reach and take them when needed for specific tasks.

WHY IT MATTERS

When parents create an environment that encourages making choices, independent exploration, and the opportunity structure for children to benefit from exploratory behaviour, children's intrinsic drive to persist and master their environment is enhanced. This leads to greater school readiness in later years.
