Exercise with your baby by making "angels". Set up a clear floor space, gently place the baby flat on their back, with arms and legs stretched out. Show them how to move as if they were making a snow angel, moving their arms and legs out from their sides and back again. Encourage reaching beyond their heads.
The idea is to help babies learn to control their muscles with graceful postures.
Reflexes have survival value that connects parents or caregivers to their baby, so that they respond to the baby’s needs for safety and security.
The critical period for attachment development is from birth to 7 months, where the infant-parent bond is best facilitated by close contact with the primary parent and by lots of eye contact.
These types of sensory inputs ensure a normal development of posture, bilateral coordination and optimal arousal states, which helps in the development of fine motor skills.
