Let your child play and exercise outdoors at playgrounds and parks and on various types of equipment, with supervision. Observe if your toddler is ready. If they look frustrated, stop and let them return to a comfortable position.

WHY IT MATTERS

At this stage, children tend to climb on chairs or stools to reach for toys and other objects beyond their reach. They will stand on one foot or can kick a ball with one foot while standing.

Expose children to various types of outdoor playgrounds (e.g. traditional playgrounds, adventure playgrounds and nature playgrounds) for building resilience from young.

Outdoor play is important for providing children the capacity to perceive themselves as competent learners and engage in risk-taking.
