Prepare the temporal environment, such as the timing, sequence, and length of routines and activities, by establishing predictable routines.

WHY IT MATTERS

Feeding and dressing are everyday activities that require fine motor skills. Greater competency in fine motor skills in early childhood leads to higher physical activity levels, physical fitness, perceived motor competence in adolescence and healthier weight.

New skills, abilities, and understandings, including increasing autonomy and responsibility for their actions, emerge when children can investigate and explore the things that interest them, practise and refine emerging skills and understanding.
