WHY IT MATTERS

Children need adults who are sensitive and responsive to their cues and needs. They also need adults to provide a soothing presence and create an environment for them in times of distress. Having a quiet place with reduced sensory inputs and comforting and familiar objects to hold onto helps children find ways to self-soothe and emotionally regulate.
